Two $250 microgrants for small ideas that help pollinators thrive.
Something new is taking root at Tiny Rituals. 🌱
I'm excited to introduce The Root & Petal Project, a small community initiative created to support the pollinators that make our landscapes possible.
Tiny Rituals was born from a love of plants, botanicals, flowers, and the living world around us. The plants that inspire our products are part of a much bigger ecosystem, one filled with bees, butterflies, moths, hummingbirds, and countless other creatures quietly doing important work every day.
So we wanted to find a way to give something back.
🌼 For our first round...
Tiny Rituals is giving two $250 microgrants to support small projects that help pollinators thrive in Boulder County, Colorado.
That's $500 going directly toward small ideas with the potential to make a meaningful difference.
And here's the important part:
Anyone can apply.
You don't need to be a nonprofit.
You don't need to be a business.
You don't need fancy credentials.
You don't need a big organization behind you.
And you definitely don't need a 20-page grant proposal.
You can nominate someone else, or nominate yourself.
🐝 KNOW SOMEONE DOING SOMETHING GOOD FOR POLLINATORS?
Maybe you know someone planting a native garden.
Someone teaching kids about bees.
Someone turning an overlooked patch of land into pollinator habitat.
Someone creating a community garden.
Someone restoring a little piece of habitat.
Someone creating educational or artistic work that helps people understand pollinators.
Or someone who simply has a thoughtful idea but doesn't have a big budget behind it.
We want to hear about them.
The project doesn't have to be big.
In fact, small is kind of the point.
We're looking for thoughtful, practical, creative ideas that can make a positive difference for pollinators in Boulder County.
🌱 WHAT CAN THE MICROGRANT SUPPORT?
We are intentionally leaving the door open to different kinds of projects.
Ideas might include:
🌻 Native pollinator gardens
🐝 Pollinator habitat creation or restoration
🦋 Butterfly and moth habitat
🌿 Native plantings
🏡 Making a residential or community space more pollinator-friendly
🌱 Community garden projects
👩🏫 Educational projects involving children or adults
🎨 Art, storytelling, or outreach that encourages pollinator awareness
🌼 Small neighborhood or community projects
🐞 Other creative ideas that directly benefit pollinators
If your idea helps pollinators, we want to hear about it.
💛 WHO CAN APPLY?
Anyone can nominate someone.
You may nominate:
Yourself
A friend
A neighbor
A teacher
A gardener
A community member
A small business
A community organization
A school or educator
Someone already doing pollinator-related work
Someone with a new idea that hasn't gotten off the ground yet
There is no nonprofit requirement and no requirement that the applicant have previously received funding.
The important requirement is that the proposed project benefit pollinators and take place in Boulder County.
If you are nominating someone else, please make sure the nominee is aware of the nomination if they are selected.
🌼 HOW TO NOMINATE
Nominations are simple.
No lengthy application. No grant-writing experience necessary.

Please answer these five questions:
1. Who are you nominating?
Please include their name and contact information.
2. What are they doing, or what do you hope they'll do, to help pollinators?
Tell us about the work or idea.
3. Where will the project take place?
Please provide the location or general area within Boulder County.
4. What could $250 help them accomplish?
Tell us what the microgrant would help purchase, create, plant, restore, teach, or make possible.
5. Why are you nominating them?
Tell us what makes their idea or work meaningful to you.
Self-nominations are absolutely welcome.
If you're nominating yourself, simply answer the questions from your own perspective.
A photo, sketch, link, or other information about the project is welcome, but not required.

Deadline
All nominations must be received by October 9, 2026.
After nominations close, Tiny Rituals will review submissions and select two projects to support.
🌻 WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
We're not necessarily looking for the biggest project.
We're looking for the idea that makes us think:
“Yes. This could really help.”
Maybe $250 buys native plants.
Maybe it creates a little patch of habitat.
Maybe it provides materials for a classroom.
Maybe it helps someone finally get a project they've been dreaming about off the ground.
Maybe it inspires ten more people to do something similar.
We believe small things matter.
And sometimes a small idea just needs a little room to grow.
🌱 AFTER THE GRANTS
We want to follow the projects we support.
With permission from the recipients, we'll share their stories and updates through Tiny Rituals so our community can see what these small grants make possible.
Because we don't just want to hand over $500 and disappear.
We want to watch something grow.
🌼 WHY ROOT & PETAL?
Root & Petal is the botanical heart of Tiny Rituals.
Root represents what sustains us.
Petal represents what blooms, attracts, nourishes, and connects.
The Root & Petal Project is our way of taking some of that inspiration and putting it back into the world that gives us so much.
Because beauty isn't something we should only take from nature.
Sometimes, we should give something back.
🐝 SMALL IDEAS. A LITTLE SUPPORT. MORE WILD IN THE WORLD.
This is our first round.
We hope it won't be our last.
As Tiny Rituals grows, we'd love for The Root & Petal Project to grow with it.
More flowers.
More habitat.
More pollinators.
More people paying attention.
More tiny acts of care.

The Root & Petal Project is a community microgrant initiative created and funded by Tiny Rituals. Tiny Rituals is not a nonprofit organization, and contributions or purchases associated with Tiny Rituals or this project are not charitable donations and are not represented as tax-deductible.
The Root & Petal Project is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Boulder County or any governmental agency.
Two microgrants of $250 each will be awarded for projects that Tiny Rituals determines are aligned with the purpose of the Root & Petal Project and that benefit pollinators within Boulder County, Colorado.
No purchase is necessary to nominate or receive consideration for a microgrant. Purchasing Tiny Rituals products does not improve an applicant's or nominee's chances of being selected.
Nominations may be submitted by individuals, organizations, businesses, educators, community members, or other interested parties. Self-nominations are permitted.
Tiny Rituals reserves the right to contact nominees for additional information before making a final selection. Nominees may be asked to confirm their willingness to participate and provide additional details about their proposed project.
Grant funds must be used for the project described in the nomination and for lawful, appropriate project expenses related to the stated purpose of the grant. Projects taking place on property the recipient does not own must have appropriate permission from the property owner before grant funds are used.
Tiny Rituals reserves the right to decline any nomination and to determine recipients at its discretion. If a selected recipient is unable or unwilling to accept the microgrant, Tiny Rituals may select an alternate recipient.
Recipients may be asked to provide basic information and documentation necessary to issue the grant. Recipients are responsible for determining and fulfilling any federal, state, or local tax obligations associated with receiving grant funds. Tax treatment can depend on the recipient's individual circumstances. The IRS generally treats many prizes, awards, and grants as potentially taxable income, so recipients should consult their own tax professional if they have questions. �

By submitting a nomination, you confirm that the information provided is accurate to the best of your knowledge and that Tiny Rituals may contact the nominee regarding the nomination.
If you nominate another person, you represent that you have a reasonable basis for providing their contact information and understand that Tiny Rituals may contact them regarding the project.
With permission from the recipient, Tiny Rituals may share information, photographs, updates, or stories about the supported project for educational, community, and promotional purposes. No recipient will be required to provide future services or purchase products from Tiny Rituals as a condition of receiving the microgrant.
The Root & Petal Project is intended to support positive community efforts for pollinators. It does not provide professional environmental, legal, financial, tax, gardening, or conservation advice.
Tiny Rituals reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Root & Petal Project if circumstances arise that make it impractical or impossible to continue as described.
